Greater Harmony Hills Neighborhood

Greater Harmony Hills is a neighborhood in San Antonio Texas. The western border of the neighborhood is Ward Avenue, the eastern is San Pedro Avenue, the southern border is Lockhill Selma Road and the northern is West Avenue. It has been nicknamed the Enchanted Forest because of the number of trees and the lushness of the landscaping in the neighborhood.

The majority of the homes in Greater Harmony Hills were built in the 1950s and 1960s. The area was developed by H.B. Zachry who also built the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and many other projects in the area. The Greater Harmony Hills neighborhood offers a combination of apartments, condos and single family homes.

North Star Mall is located right off San Pedro Avenue in San Antonio. It is on the edge of the Greater Harmony Hills neighborhood. It is anchored by JC Penney, Dillard’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s. In addition there is a Starbucks, Sephora, J Crew and Wendy’s among many others. This is a large multi-level shopping mall with just about anything a shopper could want.

Harmony Hills Community Park is located in Greater Harmony Hills. It is also home to the Harmony Hills Cabana Club. This is a membership club that offers tennis courts and several different swimming pools including one for the competitive swim team and also one for tots. Children in the neighborhood attend Harmony Hills Elementary School and Churchill High School.

Enchanted Village is a condo complex in Greater Harmony Hills. There are also several apartment complexes including Sunray Apartments and Rayo Del Sol Apartments. The single family homes offer a wide variety of options from inexpensive smaller homes to large estates on up to an acre of land.
