About Berkley Manor
721 E. High St. was once the mansion of W. S. Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a member of one of the leading industrial families of Springfield. He was made treasurer of J.H. Thomas & Sons Manufacturing in 1886, and after his father's death in 1901 became president. He also served as president of Mad River National Bank. Built in 1889, the architecture of this mansion is breathtaking. A true jewel of downtown Springfield.
