This home is in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the Highland Square area. The mansion across the street once belonged to E.J. Thomas, former president of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.. The large brick double house to the right was built by John and Charles Knight, the publisher of the Akron Beacon Journal and the president of Knight Ridder newspapers. At one time this was the premier neighborhood of Akron. There is a small triangular park with benches. Further down Edgerton Rd. before Merriman is a community garden where you can grow your own produce. You just need to register for a plot to garden. This is a great place, in a great neighborhood. It's worth your time to come and check it out.
