Historical architecture is everywhere in West Chester – especially along Church Street, which passes through the heart of the West Chester University campus. West Chester University was established in 1871 and is located roughly 25 miles west of Philadelphia. The West Chester State College Quadrangle Historic District includes several buildings, including Philips Memorial Building, Recitation Hall, and the Old Library.
