Founded by Quakers in 1885, George Fox University is a private Christian liberal arts school located just northeast of downtown Newberg, Oregon. The university offers several undergraduate and graduate programs, including a Doctor of Ministry degree in three tracks. Other graduate programs include education, business, psychology, and physical therapy. GFU is affiliated with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the Christian College Consortium.

The GFU Bruins participate in 15 varsity sports and are part of NCAA Division III. The Bruins basketball team won the 2004 NCAA Division III national championship. The school colors are old gold and navy blue. The campus enrolls over 3,700 students and is considered the second-largest private university in Oregon.
