Hofstra University - Hempstead, NY

Located in the village of Hempstead on Long Island, Hofstra University is a private, nonsectarian university that is probably best known as the site of the 2008 and 2012 Presidential debates. The university also hosts Presidential conferences, as well as several international academic conferences.

Hofstra University was established in 1935 and is home to roughly 12,000 students. The 240-acre campus features 113 buildings. The university offers roughly 140 undergraduate and about 150 graduate programs in a variety of schools, including the School of Medicine and the School of Law. The Hofstra Pride compete in several sports, including baseball, basketball, and soccer. They are part of NCAA Division I and their school colors are blue, white, and gold.
