Established in 1923, Rowan University is a public university located in Glassboro. In 2012, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University was established at the university’s Camden campus. It is New Jersey’s first public medical school not associated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. The university’s other schools include Science and Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, Business, Engineering, Performing Arts, Education, and several others, totaling 10 schools.
The Rowan Profs play in 16 sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and track & field. They are part of NCAA Division III and have won several national titles. Richard Wackar Stadium is home to the football team and Esbjornson Gymnasium hosts the basketball team as well as the volleyball team.
