Northwestern College became University of Northwestern—St. Paul in 2013. UNW is a private, Evangelical Christian college that was established in 1902, when it was Northwestern Bible and Missionary Training School. The 107-acre campus contains 12 buildings along Lake Johanna in Roseville, Minnesota. UNW enrolls about 3,000 students per year, with 55 bachelor degree programs and five master degree programs. All students are required to minor in Bible and attend chapel program.
The Northwestern Eagles are members of NCAA Division III as part of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. The school is also part of the National Christian College Athletic Association. Sports teams include football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer.
Roseville is a suburban city located about seven miles from both Minneapolis and St. Paul – it is northeast of Minneapolis and northwest of downtown St. Paul. Owasso County Park borders Lake Owasso, and several smaller lakes also feature parks.
