New River Marine Corps Air Station, NC

Built in 1943, the Marine Corps Air Station New River is situated near Camp Lejeune in eastern North Carolina. It is a helicopter and tilt-rotor base that was named for one of the leaders in Marine Corps helicopter aviation, General Keith B. McCutcheon. MCAS New River was one of the first Marine Corps bases to contain the MV-22 Osprey.

Look for an apartment near MCAS New River in the Jacksonville area. Jacksonville is a growing city, currently North Carolina’s fourth largest. Founded in 1757, Jacksonville was a small, agricultural community until 1941 when Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base was established.
