The basement studio is in a townhouse located less than a block from Sligo Creek Parkway, the gateway to miles of wooded trails with parks, tennis courts, and destinations such as Brookside Gardens, Lake Artemisia, and Rock Creek Parkway. Downtown Silver Spring (Whole Foods, CVS, Saturday Farmer’s market, Veterans Plaza and other shops and restaurants (Zinnias) are a 5-minute bike ride (15-minute walk) through the park and neighborhood; the Metro (Red Line) to DC is downtown; the entrance to 495 is a mile away; the city bus stop is half a block. The purple line will eventually be located five blocks way. The space consists of a large rectangular room (20 X12) separated by a velvet curtain from an area with a kitchenette (sink, microwave, refrigerator) and private tiled bath. The whole studio has Pergo floors making the space warm and cozy. Mirrors on one wall making the space feel larger, and it has 2 small windows. The studio has a cute tiled kitchen space with sink, microwave and toaster, and a refrigerator around the corner. You would walk through the townhouse entryway on the first floor to get to the studio space. There is a washer and drier in a separate room in the basement, which we would share. I have 2 futons, overstuffed chair, wooden table, and other furniture that you can use if needed. Use of upstairs kitchen and common spaces, including the lovely deck is negotiable. Rent includes high speed internet access and on-site parking. We’d split other utilities. Though we love animals, due to allergies we can't have any pets in the house. No smoking.
