Old Shelby High Apartments is now a tax credit property and therefore, income restrictions apply. Old Shelby High Apartments is presently undergoing a major renovation and historic restoration with the help of rental housing and historic tax credits. It's a great time to get in to the building as our renovations kick into high gear. As we move through the renovation of apartment units and building wide upgrades and improvements, rent concessions of $30.00 / month (effectively lowering published rental rates above) will be extended to new tenants through July 31, 2020.
The property we affectionately call ‘Old Shelby High’ contains 49 spacious apartments, mostly 1 and 2 bedroom units and in the Winter, 2020, there will be just two 3 bedroom units in this re-use of the former historic Shelbyville High and Junior High School building. Its historic look and feel gives it a unique sense of living, and each apartment unit is configured differently, yet all with 15 foot ceilings. A few of the remaining apartment units even have some original hardwood flooring that looks and feels great.
Old Shelby High Apartments is an easy walk to downtown, parks, schools, shopping and eateries. This diverse community is convenient for all your local needs, inspired by the vision of being a safe, affordable, eco-friendly and a healthy place to live. Since 2019, Old Shelby High has been under new and strong management team. Cats and dogs of appropriate size and behavior are permitted, and we have 2 laundry rooms in our building for your convenience.
