The Berkshire is located at 2117 Church Street, in the heart of Johnsburg, a beautiful rural village with great neighborhoods, amenities and shopping. St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg Public Library, two banks and a grocery store are within walking distance. A PACE bus stop is located just up the street, offering convenient public transit to nearby regional shopping centers. For convenience and atmosphere, the Berkshire can’t be beat. The Berkshire is located on a beautiful six-acre property that was formerly home to the James C. Bush Elementary School. Our design carefully preserves portions of the historic school and includes several unique features to give our community a very distinctive character. We’ve located several units in former classrooms, our leasing center in the former principal’s office and we’ve maintained the beautiful 1950’s gymnasium for resident and community use. You’ll enjoy the numerous seating areas and community rooms where you can read the paper, chat with friends and participate in the many community activities we offer at the Berkshire. Our units are private and secure, with very nice finishes to create a sense of home. We provide full kitchens with full-size EnergyStar® appliances including dishwashers.
