If you don't need a full kitchen but can survive with an air fryer/countertop oven, microwave, nice-sized fridge and coffee maker, this is a chance to live in Madison's gorgeous historic district (the main house is an 1855 showpiece) where there are VERY FEW opportunities for renters to live. It is the most walkable scenic neighborhood you are likely to have ever seen. Historic houses on every corner, and so safe and quiet you can literally walk down the middle of the narrow streets in the evening and rately encounter a car--only friendly neighbors, if they happen to be on their porches or walking their dogs. Note: there are two large (but friendly) dogs on the property, and they own the place. So you must love dogs and be okay with dogs to be considered for this rental. This comes furnished but we can negotiate that. We are looking for a quiet, nonsmoking and considerate tenant to be our close neighbor and hopefully new friend. There IS ample offstreet parking right next door and it’s always available. You and your guests will never want for a place to park. Think of this as a super charming studio or hotel suite in a historic setting, at a rental rate that is substantially below others in Madison (where any kind of housing is extremely scarce). Madison is just 22 minutes away from Athens and this gated property is only 1/4 mile (an easy 5- minute walk) from Madison’s charming town square & its various restaurants and pubs (such as Hart & Crown, The Sinclair, etc). We have a lot of experience being landlords (back in the day, in Atlanta, before we fled to beautiful Madison) and believe in treating our tenants very well.
