This lovely apartment has it's own redwood deck & entrance, stunning views, cathedral ceiling, exposed natural beams and blue stain T&G paneling; all of the log posts and beams are from local trees. It’s a bit of mountain living with close access to the urban workplace and entertainment scene. Only 25 minutes from downtown Denver or 15 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater. The 2nd floor apartment was added as new space in 2014 as the second floor of my remodeled 1935 cabin. It has outside access via a redwood deck looking out over the valley. The apartment has blue-stain pine paneled space, large windows, a skylight, plus ample under eaves storage (not counted in the 640 sf). It is a studio apartment with a set off area for kitchen and dining. The kitchen contains a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, convection toaster oven and dual burner cooktop. The bath, with heated tile floor, has a separate shower & jetted tub with dual glass vessel sinks in a live-edge custom made slab countertop and cabinets with a large cedar lined walk-in closet. There is a wood-fired sauna available on site. Inglenook South was designed to be welcoming, as well as easily accessible as a base for venturing out to city events or mountain adventures. We split utilities, which includes heat, water, electric, trash, internet and averages about $200 a month for each of us. Small quiet pets are acceptable with an additional pet deposit & pet rent. Prefer singles, though will consider a couple with a small upcharge for additional wear & traffic. We live below and are quiet, friendly and helpful. There's parking for a few occasional guests. The spot right next to the apartment stairs is for you. The neighborhood: Inglenook South is located in a spacious but somewhat populated area with ample sense of isolation/privacy. Wildlife is our most important neighbor; everything from rabbits & birds to deer & elk, fox, bear and various wildcats. Pet cats must be indoors only and any dogs must respect the wildlife. There is little danger, but one needs to be aware and act appropriately in the WUI (Wildland/Urban Interface). How to get around: Inglenook South is easily accessible from Denver. It's less than an hour to the airport in good traffic. It's accessible year round, but it is in the foothills, so winter driving in the mountains in inclement weather requires special care & preparation. 4x4 or AWD vehicles are recommended, though FWD with snow tires would probably work OK. The county road is well maintained. The drive is up a moderate hill. Outside Amenities: Hiking is accessible from the house, and much more within a few minutes’ drive. There's 2-4 miles of hikes available from our door, and an unlimited amount very nearby. Mountain biking, sledding, snow-shoeing, and 4x4ing are easily accessible. One of the Denver areas favorite hiking parks, Mt. Falcon Park, with its castle ruins, spectacular views of both city-scapes and snow capped 14ers is just a few minutes’ drive from Inglenook South and visible from your deck. Loveland ski area is an hour away, Vail is under two hours. Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park is only 2 hours away. Mt Blue Sky drive is only 40 minutes. Many other wonderful mountain activities are just a short drive. If you're not familiar with the area, just ask. We are happy to guide you in the right direction. Occupancy is available Feb 1. There is an application fee of $50 for the background check. It's first come first served, so you may want to have your application filled out when you come for your viewing, but I won't process applications before you view it.
