About this Space:
The house is in an orchard near the quaint town of Graton, this original Tiny Tumbleweed house is connected to a newer living space. Enter through a screened-in porch to the light filled living room. Then go through a hallway to the original tiny house. The Tiny Tumbleweed has a full kitchen, a bathroom with a full sized bathtub and a sleeping loft, accessible by a pull-down ladder.
Outdoors is a field with mature fruit trees, a variety of berry bushes, raised garden beds and redwood trees.
The History:
This is an original Tiny Tumbleweed built by Jay Schafer for a woman whose house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. She hauled it to Louisiana from Sebastopol. It was later acquired by a couple who lived in it with their son in upper state NY and eventually brought it back to Sebastopol. The newer, 120sq. ft. light-filled room has beautiful views of nature and a screened-in porch overlooking the orchard.
**Please note that this is an unusual house:
- Propane tanks provide heat for the on-demand hot water heater and the clothes dryer. They also run two heaters. The tanks will be full when you arrive which you will maintain throughout your lease.
- The washer and dryer are in a shed attached to the outer wall of the house. The washing machine has cold water only.
- The toilet is plumbed so you don’t have to worry about dumping. It operates with a foot lever like high-end porcelain RV toilet.
- Internet speed is about 80mbps.
