Kentfield, CA Apartments for Rent

Nestled at the eastern slopes of Mount Tamalpais, Kentfield offers a peaceful setting just north of San Francisco. This Marin County community combines natural beauty with convenient access to Bay Area destinations. Originally called Ross Landing in the 1800s, Kentfield's history traces back to when steamers traveled up Corte Madera Creek to a trading post. The area was later renamed after Albert Emmett Kent, who purchased the land in 1871.

Kentfield's Mediterranean climate features warm summers and mild winters, perfect for exploring the extensive network of hiking trails at nearby Baltimore Canyon Open Space Preserve and King Mountain Open Space. The community is home to the College of Marin's main campus, while downtown San Rafael's shops and restaurants are just minutes away. Residents appreciate the convenient access to both Highway 101 and the Larkspur Ferry Terminal for commutes to San Francisco. The area offers multiple parks including Creekside Park, which features walking paths along Corte Madera Creek.
