About 242 N Wilson Ave

This lovely Bungalow is a slice of Heaven, right in Bungalow Heaven, which, I suppose, makes a lot of sense. It's a 1250 sq ft two Bedroom, one Bath, built around 1931, with character and charm and a lot of built ins. The property is a very cozy three on a lot, with a second Bungalow in front, and an apartment over the garages at the back of the property. The Bungalow includes 2 tandem parking spaces. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: It's cute and quiet and pleasant, just like much of Pasadena. We are very close to Old Town, and we walk over to Amigo's for fabulous burritos, or to the Regal for Movie Night on Wednesdays. Tuesdays are trivia nights at T Boil's Tavern. There are lovely parks right up and down the street, Ralph's is right around the corner, you can grab a pastrami burger at the Hat, or go to Roma's Deli for The Sandwich, the absolute best combo of freshly imported Italian meats and cheeses, served fresh since 1948. It's an easy stroll over to the subway stop at Lake, and you can be in Downtown in about a half hour. We loved living here for 8 years, and would not have left if we didn't have an amazing opportunity. But, we've taken very good care of it, and will continue to manage the property. We're moving only 5 minutes away. THE LIVING ROOM: This room looks out onto the building length side porch, and gets an amazing amount of light from the glass paned doors and a wall full of windows. The living room is carpeted, and the beautiful hardwood floors have been redone throughout the bungalow, and look amazing. The porch is just outside, and works as an outside dining room or as an occasional outside office. It's wired for cable and high speed internet. THE KITCHEN: We renovated and lightly remodeled the kitchen in 2024, keeping the custom craftsman cabinets (including a fantastic old farm style hutch), and adding a stainless steel refrigerator and stove. We also thought the counter was a little too low, so we installed a beautiful butcher block counter bar, so you can pull up a stool and have a bite, or just sling cocktails over it if that's the kind of thing you like to do. THE BATHROOM: There's a tub and shower combo with a high quality surround, and there's a strange area behind the shower that someone in the 60's thought was important to leave so you wouldn't lose a window. THE BEDROOMS: One spacious bedroom at the rear of the property with walk in closets (if you don't mind squeezing a bit). One slightly smaller bedroom at the front of the unit, that opens directly onto the patio/porch through a pair of French doors. If you'd rather use it as an office, it's light and airy, and is a joy to work in. There are built in storage closets/shelves right outside of each bedroom, built-in in the way that makes you love Craftsman. This is the middle Bungalow, so there's never any noise from the street - just calm, light filled living. THE BONUS ROOM: There's a bonus room at the rear, which was once, perhaps, another wrap around porch, but it was fully enclosed and turned into interior space many years ago, and they put in more window panels for even more light. It was used as a split laundry room/office (and, for a while, as a prep area for baking), and we are including a dish washer, a washer, and a dryer, already hooked up. FURNISHED OR NOT: Our tenants are great, and they are moving to the East Coast. They have excellent taste, but do not want to take any of their furniture with them. If you want, we can provide the place fully or reasonably furnished, or we are happy to clean it out to make way for your awesome stuff. For an extra $100 a month, you will have your pick of what you want to go and what you want to stay. EXTRA STUFF: There is a 10x12 custom built shed (Man Cave/She Shed/Storage) on the property that could be emptied out, and we are happy to rent it to you. The house has window unit air conditioners, which run so much more economically than our central air system that I miss cooling each room as we liked. The parking spaces are right outside the Bonus Room, and are two tandem spaces, that are plenty deep for two larger cars. Or two smaller cars and a scooter. Or 12 scooters. Wait - do you HAVE 12 scooters? That's probably a whole other conversation. We are looking to rent this marvelous place ASAP. Our tenants, who were GREAT, are leaving in mid October, and from what we can tell, it won't take much more than a deep cleaning to get it ready to go for you. We haven't jacked up the rent, and we're not looking to make a quick buck. We prefer someone who wants to stay for a long time, and want someone who will take excellent care of the place. We will do a credit check, and ask for first month's rent and a deposit, usually equal to the first month's rent. We are are available for showings almost any time, but want to give our tenants plenty of notice. Reach out! We look forward to welcoming you to your new home.
