Allie's on the Rocks is 2-bed/2-bath, fully renovated (2021) bungalow with all new furniture, flooring, and appliances including two large office desk spaces. This bungalow has an upstairs master bedroom with king bed and attached bathroom with privacy/locking barn door. The master suite includes a Roku TV, dresser, closet, reading chair and desk/workspace surrounded by large windows that provide great views of the lake. The master suite has a private feel though there is no privacy door between this bedroom and the stairs. One of the two living room areas was renovated to include a sleeping area complete with queen sofa sleeper, dresser, desk/workspace, Roku TV, and attached washer/dryer. It also has a sliding door to access the back porch. The first floor bedroom is adjacent to the entry living room and has a locking privacy barn door, queen bed and Roku TV. All the TV’s are set up to stream at high speed with free channels including 75+ live Roku channels. You can also login with your own streaming account. The first floor bathroom has a locking privacy barn door and all the standard amenities. The kitchen with attached dining room area has all the standard amenities to cook meals, brew coffee and tea and mix drinks or you can cook outside using the propane gas grill. The inside dining area seats 4 people comfortably with additional seating (up to about 8) on the outside porch. If you don’t want to cook then you will be happy to find that you are very close to a variety of good eats including "Drifters Bar & Grille", which has southern style food including great seafood and a variety of alcoholic drinks with a nice open patio deck adjacent to Allie's large gravel driveway/parking area. Allie’s parking area has room for a couple of vehicles with boats, trailer/toy hauler or motorhome (40 ft max. length) in case you are traveling heavy. You can bring your boat and launch it at nearby Smith Lake Boat Launch and dock it at Allie's you can rent a boat for the day at any number of nearby local establishments (check ahead of arrival for hours of operation as some businesses are seasonal). Or you might prefer to use one of Allie’s kayaks to get on the water. She is happy to lend her 2 kayaks to guests for the duration of their stay if they promise to take care of them. Though the water level rises in the summer and falls in the winter, spotted and large mouth bass fishing from the dock is pretty good throughout the year. You'll typically see some of these lunkers surfacing for baitfish, particularly early in the mornings and late in the afternoons. You will also see an abundance of water fowl, such as ducks and geese mixed in with a variety of large, majestic birds such as bald eagles, blue herons, and especially egrets, high-stepping the shallows and foraging for minnows. The slope of the boat dock ramp will change as the water level drops so sometimes it can be a pretty steep walk along the ramp to get to the dock, however, there is also a set of stairs leading from the deck down to the water’s edge for fishing access. A 4-foot high gated fence encloses the back half of the property so that your furry companions can enjoy the porch, deck, dock and water by your side without worrying that they will wander off or mingle with the other local critters. There is a convenient pet "clean-up" station and other pet amenities as well. Neighborhood: Allie’s on the Rocks has a quiet and tranquil feel to it though it is centrally located within a southern-style community with a mix of residential homes and small family-owned businesses. You can find groceries, gas, BBQ, fishing/hunting/boating gear and some specialty shops about 5-10 minutes away (by car) and there’s a Walmart with the typical associated shopping outlets about 20 minutes away. There are also handful of Baptist, Methodist and non-denomination churches nearby. Public Transportation: Your best bet for getting around the area is by car/truck - either your own vehicle or a rental. Public transportation, taxi and Uber/Lyft services are scarce and would be relatively costly if available. Biking can be a good option, but one must be extra careful on the winding roads, especially at night because there are several blind curves which are typical along lake/waterfront properties.
