Westminster Apartments is a HUD-subsidized, 6 story apartment complex. Rent is based on 30% of your income. Out of pocket medical expenses can help to reduce your rent. A security deposit (equaling your monthly rent) is paid at move in. All utilities (except for telephone and cable) are furnished. These apartments are for the elderly, 62 and older. We have 10 units for those under 62 (requiring a handicap accessible unit on the first floor). However, those 10 units are filled and there is a waiting list for those units. All apartments consist of one bedroom, living room, kitchen, nice size bath, and a storage room. Each apartment has three closets; one in the bedroom, one in the hall, and a linen closet in the bathroom. Each unit has 2 smoke detectors as well as a sprinkler system throughout the building. Each resident is supplied with an emergency pendant to wear in the event of an emergency. There is a large lounge/library/T.V. room on the first floor. There is a recreation room provided for resident activities. Each resident has a personal (locked) mailbox in the lobby area. Each floor has a public balcony. A laundry room with card reader machines is located on the first floor. The apartments are conveniently located to all your daily needs: stores, shops, restaurants, medical facilities.
