Park Pointe is an area in Issaquah, Washington, located in King County near Seattle. The area is located west of 2nd Avenue S.E. and Front Street South. Covering over 140 acres of forest, Park Pointe is at the foot of the mountainous region on Tiger Mountain, near Issaquah High School. The city of Issaquah has long been involved in preserving forest land, so the community has planned to preserve the forested areas, and cluster development in the neighborhood.
Issaquah’s history dates back to miners and logger who first settled in the area, using timber for their livelihood after the mines ran dry. Settlement in the area increased after the opening of the I 90 Floating Bridge in 1940. One of the main roads across the nation, traveling from Seattle to Boston, the I 90 begins its climb over Snoqualmie Pass after leaving Issaquah.
Lake Sammamish Park and Central Park are popular with residents. Lake Sammamish Park has two public beaches, sport fields, picnic areas and offers a summer camp in the summer. Central Park on N.E Park Drive has a play area for children and a rock climbing wall, many baseball and soccer fields, and a picnic area. It is the largest park in the city of Issaquah. Park Pointe residents explore Tiger Mountain and its many trails, leading to views over Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains.
Parke Pointe is mostly a residential area. Shoppers travel to Issaquah town center for shopping or the Bellevue Square in nearby Bellevue, Washington. Buses and commuter lanes on the highway carry workers to jobs in Seattle or Bellevue. Students attend schools in the Issaquah School District.
