Northwest Bellevue is the portion of Bellevue, Washington located west of SR 405. The southern boundary is N.E. 8th Street, the main road through downtown Bellevue. Northwest Bellevue abuts the Clyde Hill neighborhood on the north and west and ends around N.E. 24th Street on the north. The area contains the Hidden Valley area and a sports park. The neighborhood is primarily residential with single-family homes. Commercial office parks dot the area, along with strip malls and taller office and residential buildings along the main roads such as N.E. 12th Avenue.
Hidden Valley Sports Park houses three softball fields including one that is lit for night games, as well as tennis courts, sports court and picnic areas. The parking lot and children’s play area fill out the 17-acre park. A pair of osprey has recently called the park, now protected by the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife, home.
Bellevue provides many jobs for its residents with tech companies such as Microsoft calling the city home. Commuters travel across two floating bridges to Seattle for work and play: the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge and the Interstate 90 Floating Bridge.
Bellevue Square Shopping Center provides a shopping experience in both national chain stores and locally owned ones. Students in Northwest Bellevue attend the Bellevue Public Schools, which sponsors some of the best public schools in the state. Many parks dot the area creating open, natural spaces with views of the Cascade Mountains and Lake Washington and providing trails for walkers, joggers and bikers. Recreation abounds on both Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, for fishermen, boaters and swimmers alike.
