Education Hill is a residential neighborhood in the northeast of Redmond, Washington. Bear Creek is nearby, as is Jonathan Hartman Park. The city of Redmond provides shopping in both the commercial core and a historic district. The neighborhood is primarily single family.
The Redmond Regional Library, which is the second largest library in the King County Library System, is located downtown, near the Redmond Town Center. Education Hill is close to the many wineries of nearby Woodinville, including Chateau St. Michele and Columbia Wineries. These popular local wineries host tastings and private parties. Redmond is home to the 640-acre Marymoor park, on the shores of Lake Sammamish. The park plays host to large concerts and events and features 40 acres of off-leash dog park.
Redmond is the home of Microsoft, who employs over 93 thousand employees from around the area. Their campus occupies over eight million square feet of office space. Many other tech employers populate the area, including Nintendo, Concur Technologies, and Wild Tangent.
Students attend schools in the Lake Washington School District where there are nine elementary schools and three junior high schools that feed into Redmond High School. In addition, students can attend three private schools, Overlake School, Bear Creek School, or the Conservatory High School. The Digipen Institute of Technology teaches video game skills to college students and Lake Washington Technical College is nearby. Bellevue Community College and the University of Washington are a short commute away.
Bear Creek sports a country club, and the private K-12 Bear Creek School. Jonathan Hartman Park on N.E 104th Street is popular with residents and offers five baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, picnic area, trails, restrooms and a wooded area with trails. The Babe Ruth baseball field has specialized field turf. The Redmond pool is located here as well.
