The Nevada/Lingerwood neighborhood of Spokane, Washington, has everything a person could want. This small neighborhood is north of the Spokane River and most of the homes and apartments were built in the 1970s though the 1990s. The Spokane Transit System has many routes in this area, making it easy to get around in this neighborhood.
The northern border is at the end of the Northpointe Shopping Center. The western border starts on North Newport Highway that becomes North Division Street ending at the southern border of East Euclid Avenue. The eastern border starts at the Northpointe Shopping Center and heads south on North Nevada Street, going east on East Magnesium Road, south on North Crestline Street, turning west on East Houston Street and south again on North Perry Street.
There are several parks in the area. The Byrne Park is on East Lacrosse Avenue. The Glass Playfield is on East Princeton Avenue. The Nevada Playfield is on East Central Avenue. This neighborhood also borders the huge Franklin Park with tennis courts, a baseball field, picnic areas, and a playground for the kids. The area supports two elementary schools: the Lingerwood Elementary on East Nebraska Ave and the Shiloh Elementary School on East Stonewall Avenue.
This area is full of unique dining and shopping experiences. There are many places to dine on North Division Street. In the southern part of this neighborhood there is the Northtown Mall. To the north is the huge Northpointe Shopping Center that has many stores including a Target and Best Buy. Among the many restaurants are an Applebee’s and a Red Robin. These stores and restaurants also support the major hotel chains in the area.
