Just off of US Highway 2 and less than a half-mile from US Highway 395, is the neighborhood of Country Homes. Like much of Spokane, there are great fir trees in this place, though there are other tree species, as well. The trees aren’t overgrown and dense. However, they do give a sense of natural surroundings and privacy.
This community is also about a half-mile from Whitworth University. This university is private, focusing on the liberal arts. It offers a great number of bachelor of arts degrees, as well as some bachelor of science degrees. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, making this a premier college institution. The campus is kept in great shape, and the landscaping is lovely. Students can take a break between classes to study on the lawn, under the shade of the trees. The smell of the firs and the air are quite conducive for studies.
Country Homes is about a mile from Spokane Country Club and not much farther from Wandermere Golf Course. People in the neighborhood certainly don’t have to go far to play a round of golf. Spokane Country Club is great for the members, being situated on 140 acres. Wandermere is an 18-hole course that is beautiful, and it’s there for the residents of the community to use.
People who like to fish are also attracted to the neighborhood. There are several lakes and a stream located within a few miles that afford the opportunity to get out in nature and wet a fly or lure. The fishing can be great, and there are many fish here that exceed the size expectations of the anglers.
Wildlife in this neighborhood is common, though it tends not to be overwhelming. This is a community that has so many benefits that it is hard to list them all.
