The Preston Park neighborhood is in the northeast section of Roanoke at the Roanoke County border. The community is situated in the 24012 zip code. Mostly residential, it is a part of the larger Williamson Road area.
Preston Park’s physical makeup is largely suburban. Limited vehicular access to the neighborhood makes for quieter living in contrast to the traditional grid design of some of Roanoke’s older neighborhoods. Minutes away from the airport as well as downtown, the Preston Park neighborhood is home to the Williamson Road Library, Preston Center, and Preston Park.
The small, southern city of Roanoke has more than 60 parks available for recreational use. Its system of greenways provides residents with more than 10 miles of hiking and biking paths that link its various neighborhoods to the downtown area. While there are several parks near the Preston Park community, Preston Center within the neighborhood offers residents access to a wide variety of indoor and outdoor programs for both children and adults.
