This suburban area in ZIP code 24503 is surrounded by many other planned communities including Huntingwood, Bethel Estates, Marvin Place, Bethel Park, Fairway Oaks, and Boonsboro Acres. Meanwhile, going further southeast leads to the Forest Plaza West Shopping Center.
Several recreation sites and parks are also located a few miles east of the neighborhood including the Peaks View Park, Blackwater Park, and Blackwater Creek Natural Area. The northern portion of Wildwind is also near the Boonsboro Country Club.
