Turtle Creek is a small neighborhood about 4 miles west of Downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. Located south of Fleetwood Drive, Turtle Creek consists of single-family ranchers spread out along several streets, including Turtle Creek Road, Nester Lane and Dove Court.
The Turtle Creek neighborhood is a residential area with single- and two-story homes. The neighborhood consists mainly of homeowners, but apartments are available in surrounding neighborhoods, less than a mile northwest of Turtle Creek.

A popular spot for both residents and visitors is the Sandusky Historic Site & Civil War Museum. Situated about 1 mile south of Turtle Creek, this site hosts “Sandusky” – a historic home of formal Federal-style architecture. The Sandusky home was built by Charles Johnston, uncle to Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston, in 1808. Notable guests known to visit Sandusky include Thomas Jefferson and leaders of the Civil War.
A variety of shopping, dining and entertainment venues are available just to the east near Lynchburg College. Residents can also travel a couple miles south for convenient shopping at The Plaza Shopping Center, River Ridge Mall, and Hill Plaza Shopping Center.
