History lovers will enjoy visiting the Legacy Museum of African American History, located within 5 miles of the community. Established in 1995 with the goal of collecting and preserving documents, historical artifacts, and other memorabilia relating to the establishment and contributions of African Americans to the city of Lynchburg, the museum offers exhibits and programs that trace all aspects of the community, including the arrival of the first Africans, through the Civil Rights movement up to the present.
