Lynchburg, Virginia’s Miller Park community is located off Fort Avenue right next to the Lynchburg Stadium. The southwest Virginia neighborhood’s namesake, Miller Park, can be found just slightly north of the community. There are other local parks surrounding the community as well, such as Reservoir Park, Guggenheimer Memorial Park, and Blackwater Park. The Miller Park neighborhood is bookended by the local communities of Westend to the northwest and Seminary Hill to the southeast.
Miller Park is centrally-located with quick and close access to any number of local streets and highways. Highways like 29, 221, 460, 501, and 163 wind through and around the community, making commuting an efficient task for residents. The Lynchburg Amtrak provides convenient access to the Miller Park community with a rail line due east of the neighborhood.
There are quite a few large regional employers located within ready access to the outer perimeters of the Miller Park neighborhood. For instance, Lynchburg College lies to the west of the community and brings a large student body to the area during the academic year. Centra Lynchburg General Hospital is nestled a few miles north of the neighborhood, adjacent to the Blackwater Creek Natural Area. The Downtown District of Lynchburg and its commercial hub are situated to the northeast of Miller Park, while the Presbyterian Seminary is located due east of the community.
The Miller Park neighborhood is an older, established community in this more rural area of southwest Virginia. Homes are situated on fairly large lots, trees are mature and fully-grown, as is other vegetation, and neighborhood streets are quiet and ideal for pedestrian traffic and children at play.
