The Boonsboro Country Club is located in the community of Fairway Oaks. This prestigious club, which spans 300 acres, has a rich history. A large working farm from 1800 to 1923, the site was discovered by the internationally known golfer and course designer, Willie Park, in 1922. The farm was then bought by a private company that hired Park to design the layout of the 18-hole course. Today the club also has a swimming pool, tennis courts, a dining hall, and a cocktail lounge.
To the northwest of Fairway Oaks is Peaks View Park. This 250-acre city park offers a wide variety of recreational activities for the whole family. There are lighted tennis courts, multi-purpose fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, biking and hiking trails, and even a disc golf course. In addition, you’ll find picnic shelters and playgrounds, and a self-guided nature walk through a forest.
