The neighborhood of Northside Park is located in Blackburg. This Virginia community is part of Montgomery County. Highway 460 makes up the western border. North Main Street runs long the eastern border, and the south and northern borders are somewhat undefined.
Northside Park incorporates Northside Drive, Wildflower Lane, Givens Lane, Primrose Drive, Craig Drive, and several other small side streets. It is a mostly residential area, featuring single-family homes, but there are also some commercial properties in the neighborhood. These include Aztec Rental, Classic Body Image Salon and Spa, and the North Main Small Animal Clinic.
A nearby shopping center, the Patrick Henry Centre, offers anchor stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney. Northside Park residents also enjoy easy access to many other well-known stores such as Journey’s, American Eagle Outfitters, Border’s, and Bath & Body Works. There are several different dining options in the area as well.
Just south of the neighborhood is Virginia Tech University, which was founded in 1872. There is also the Virginia Tech Golf Course, which was built in 1973. It is an 18-hole course that’s open to the public year round.
Nearby parks include Tom’s Creek Park, which is on nine acres of open space and features a lighted softball field, picnic tables, bleachers, restroom facilities, playground equipment, and swings. Also nearby is the Jefferson National Forest. The forest is 19,300 acres in size and offers countless recreational opportunities. Visitors enjoy fishing, camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, picnicking, swimming, biking, and cross-country skiing. There are also ample wildlife-watching areas.
