(hide neighborhood information)

United Westwood is a quiet neighborhood in San Antonio. It features well-maintained, middle-class homes. Residences are mostly single-story, brick and stucco, with well-maintained shrubs and large green trees.

This community is known for being quite family-friendly and has two schools, Jones Middle Schools and Passmore Elementary School, nearby. Fortunately, United Westwood also has only light traffic, making it possible for children to walk or ride their bikes to school. A bus route goes through the community as well, making it easy for teenagers to get around without relying on their parents.

Along the the north and east side of the United Westwood neighborhood is a little creek with a forested area that is popular with area children. Many come here to build forts and test their frog-catching skills. It is also a good place to catch a glimpse of area wildlife, especially birds.

The social center of United Westwood is Meadowcliff Community Center off Pinn Road. The Center is shared with the middle school during the day but is regularly available for group activities. It is a popular place for dances, youth basketball leagues, and a variety of other activities. Tennis courts, multiple-purpose fields, and other amenities get regular use by community members.

Another recreation area can be found just off the Texas 151 access road. This section has a small playground and trails that go around a scenic little lake perfect for both nature lovers and runners.

The Guerra Library is also an important destination in United Westwood. In addition to its traditional use, it serves as a gathering place for interacting with others in the community. Many clubs utilize the library as a meeting place, and it offers a number of programs for young children and their parents.
