The Crossing at Quail Creek is a popular gated community of single-family homes that is located in zip code 78250, in a convenient part of San Antonio. It lies just west of Bandera Road and off of Mainland Drive. Bandera Road goes right into Interstate 410, but it is also convenient to Loop 1604 around the central part of the city.

Homes in this popular community are small, single-story contemporary structures that vary only slightly in size, with a general range of between 1,300 and 1,500 square feet. Most were built in 1998. Despite the fact that the houses are just over a decade old, the community is filled with mature trees, lush greenery, and nicely landscaped properties.

It is probably best known as the home to Brooke Army Medical Center, a 450-bed major level-one trauma center, and home to a surgical burn unit that is arguably one of the best burn centers in the entire United States. The Center for the Intrepid, which opened in January of 2007, houses the military performance, occupational, and physical therapy labs. It also has a prosthetic facility and a behavioral care center.
