North Central Heritage Neighborhood in San Antonio, TX
The large community of Heritage is located in western San Antonio Hill Country. It is bordered on the north by Potranco Road, on the south by Marbach Road, on the west by Rainbow Creek, and on the east by Hunt Lane. The community is not far from the I-410 Loop, which gives its residents easy access to all of San Antonio.
Many Heritage homes were built in the 1970s and 1980s, the prime years this community was developed, but some are newer builds. Styles are primarily ranch and modern two-story homes. Lots are tree-lined, and a duck-pond is a nice addition to the community. Schools in the area include Cody Elementary School, Jordan Middle School, Stevens High School, and Warren High School.
Heritage lies just northwest of Lackland Air Force Base. This military base is best known for being the site for U.S. Air-Force enlisted basic military training for active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard members.
Wolff Stadium is located off Highway 90, near the base. This stadium, hosting America’s favorite past-time, is home to the San Antonio Missions, the minor-league team that’s an affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
For a little retail therapy, residents head north to Ingram Park Mall. Department stores there include Dillard’s Fashion, Dillard’s Home, JC Penney, Macy’s, Sears, and Bealls. The mall also has more than 150 specialty stores. For one-stop shopping a little closer to home, Heritage residents can go to Westover Marketplace, located at the intersection of I-410 and Highway 151.
Heritage is conveniently located near Sea World San Antonio, a major local attraction. This is one theme park the whole family will enjoy. It features rides, shows, exhibits, animal interactions, its very own water park, and plenty of dining options.
Downtown San Antonio, only minutes away, features the famed and beautiful San Antonio River Walk and the historic Alamo.
