Village North is an older community in San Antonio. The area is mix of residential and commercial development, with mostly brick and stucco buildings. One of the biggest roads in the region is located just north of Village North. Near interstate 440 is a fun movie theater that provides big-name movies with sit-down dining. It is a nice way enhance the typical moviegoing experience and is well within walking distance for many Village North residents.
Providing natural beauty to Village North is Robert Tobin Park. This park was created in honor of an area philanthropist who grew up on the property. Within the park is Salado Creek, where Tobin used to swim as a child. The park is now a popular place for residents of all ages and features several miles of pavement for walkers, runners, skaters, and cyclists. The trail crosses the creek and goes through the forested area, providing plenty of canopy cover and lots of scenery. Salado Creek is also an important part of the park, with many stopping along the banks for a picnic or or plopping their feet into the water.
South of Robert Tobin Park is a small equestrian center where many residents board their horses. It is also where many children learn how to ride and take advantage of different camps available.
