Outer Round Rock Neighborhood in Round Rock, TX

Outer Round Rock Neighborhood

Outer Round Rock, Texas is the area north of the downtown area, extending from Palm Valley Boulevard to University Boulevard. This area includes Round Rock Premium Outlets, Old Settlers Park, and Austin Community College: Round Rock. Popular neighborhoods in Outer Round Rock include HEB 4, Chisholm Trail, Great Oaks, Mesa Ridge, Meadow Lake, and Spanish Oaks.

Round Rock feels like a quiet oasis of calm after leaving the flurry and bustle of Austin. Just a few minutes away from the capital city, the mood is less complicated. The shops and streets are not crowded. The atmosphere is friendly. This easier pace doesn’t come at the expense of recreation or convenience. In the neighborhood of Palm Valley Boulevard Round Rock, residents can find everything available in a major city and more.

A visitor might not expect to find a 570-acre park with sculpted lawns and sporting fields in the middle of town, but Old Settlers Park on Palm Valley holds these pleasant surprises. A well-maintained 20-field baseball complex and soccer facilities are just the beginning.

Not many Texas parks sport a cricket field, but here sounds of the English bat-and-ball game blend in with the sizzle of meat on the nearby barbecue pits. The park has something for any sports enthusiast, whether it’s shuffleball, tennis, volleyball, or horseshoes. Hobbyists have a place too to enjoy remote control airplanes, disc golf, trail walking, and fishing. Playgrounds, picnic tables, and groves of trees occupy several peaceful spots.

Parks and trails are an important part of the lifestyle in Round Rock. Over twenty parks, several trails, and eight undeveloped greenbelts enhance the town’s natural appeal. This setting also inspires the shops and homes. This is not the place to find miles of concrete or bland commercial spaces. Cookie-cutter homes are nowhere in evidence. Homes and apartments are attractive and distinctive. The tree-lined streets are wide. Even in the downtown area, an obvious effort is made to preserve a warm neighborhood look and the effect is welcoming.

Just a few minutes away from downtown Austin, Round Rock is very much its own unique city.
