Founded in 1851, Round Rock, Texas was originally named Brushy Creek. Brushy Creek had a distinguishing feature — a large, round rock jutted out of the creek where the water was low. During the Civil War, the round rock was used by Jesse Chisholm to cross the creek, and the town was renamed in 1854.

Round Rock is located just minutes north of the State Capital. Over the last several years, the town has experienced rapid economic growth and development. Round Rock is home to Dell Computers, TECO/Westinghouse, and other businesses. Baseball fans enjoy cheering on the Round Rock Express, a minor league team affiliated with the Houston Astros. Round Rock’s school district is one of the top-ranked in the state, and its utility and tax rates are among the best.

No matter where you hang your (cowboy) hat in Round Rock, you’ll find plenty to do. Spend the day shopping at over 120 brand-name shops at Round Rock Premium Outlets, go golfing at one of seven courses, or relax in the beautiful, tranquil Round Rock Memorial Park. Then enjoy Round Rock’s beautiful weather by dining outdoors at any number of Round Rock restaurants.

The July 4th Frontier Days Celebration and the Fall Fun Fest are two favorite events, drawing crowds from all over the area. The activities, parades, carnival, hay rides, arts and crafts, dancers, and great food will make you glad you chose to rent in Round Rock.
