Millview East lies just next to the eastern edge of Millview West at Aquarena Springs Drive in ZIP code 78666 in the city of San Marcos. San Marcos is roughly 30 miles south of Austin, and 50 miles north of San Antonio. It is just over 16 miles north of New Braunfels. The boundaries of the area are Aquarena Springs Drive to the west, 1834 Post Road, Uhland Road, and Mill Street to the north, Miller Trail and Miller Trace Street to the east, and roughly, the Interstate 35 Frontage Road to the south.

As is the case with Millview West, part of the far west portion of this neighborhood includes the Texas State University-San Marcos campus. Housing in the neighborhood is a mix of apartments, most of which belong to large apartment complexes with identical buildings throughout the properties, a mobile home park, and some duplexes. There are trees and some grassy areas in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood is ideally situated for students because they can get to the university campus quickly and easily. It is along a city bus route, and the Interstate provides a fast way to get to some of San Marcos’ famed shopping areas. The city is well known throughout Central Texas as the home to Tanger Outlet Center and San Marcos Premium Outlets. Shoppers can find outlet stores for many of their favorite name brands.

The LBJ Museum is located on the west side of the Court House Square in Downtown San Marcos. This museum opened on December 6, 2006. It is open Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. The exhibits are still accumulating, but among the things that are currently displayed are early photos, news clippings, books, and paintings.
