Feltner, a small neighborhood that consists of two streets that form the shape of a cross, lies in zip code 78666. The boundaries of the area are Interstate 35 to the east, Sherwood Street to both the north and south, and the railroad tracks or point at which Sherwood Street ends, at the west.

The neighborhood is made up of single-family homes that occupy large lots. The area is surrounded by huge masses of towering trees, providing shade from the Texas heat and privacy in the process.

The A.E. Wood Texas State Fish Hatcheries is located no more than five to ten minutes from Feltner. It is a facility that specializes in rearing fingerling sportfish that are later used to stock the public fishing waters in Texas. The hatchery was originally built in 1949.

The main hatchery building was named for Robert J. Kemp, a one time director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Fisheries Division. The building occupies 33,000 square feet and houses a modern incubation room and the shipping and holding troughs and production raceways. It also has a lab that tests water, does genetic identification, and is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of fish diseases and more. The outside part of the hatchery is made up of 50 plastic-lined ponds.

Another fun attraction in the Feltner area is Wonder World Park. It is known as the first show cave in Texas. Visitors can take guided tours of the only earthquake-formed cave in the United States. They can also go deep underground to see the impact of a major earthquake.

The park has a train that goes past a cascading waterfall at Mystery Mountain and then to a petting zoo, as well. The train allows visitors to interact with the animals while feeding and petting them.
