Toward the northwest portion of the city of Midland is the neighborhood of West Way. West Way is bordered by numerous other neighborhoods, including Francis III to the southwest, Trend to the south, Hundle Heights to the southeast and Midkiff Plaza to its north. The location is mostly compromised of single-family homes, with occasional other property types sprinkled in.
Public elementary school choices are several and include Fannin Elementary toward the north, as well as Bowie Elementary and De Zavala Elementary School to the east. Public middle school children have two possibilities, one being Goddard Junior High and the other being San Jacinto Junior High. The public high schools could be either Premier High School or Midland High. Private schools also dot the landscape and give parents other choices.
The shopping mall search leaves residents with three possible destinations. The first is north of West Way, and that is the Big Spring Mall. Almost due south from West Way is the Midland Park Mall, and then to the west is the Music City Mall. Albertsons and the Town and Country Food stores are probably the most centrally located grocery stores for residents to use.
Plenty of park lands are also available to residents. To the south of West Way is Cowden Park, while to its west is Grafa Park. To the east is Fasken Park. The Kimber-Lea Pool & Tennis Club is a short distance away for people looking for exercise. Golfing is also within short distance, with courses at Nueva Vista, Ranchland Hills, and Hogan Park available. Museum of the Southwest is also close for visiting. North Park Cinema and Hollywood Tall City are theaters in the area, along with Yucca Theatre for live performances.
