Roughly four miles directly west of the heart of downtown Midland is the Superior neighborhood. Surrounded by the neighborhoods of Lone Oak, Lilly Heights, Andrews Park, and Beckland Terrace, this Texas community is part of Midland County, in the 79703 zip code. Superior is bounded by Andrews Highway on the north, West Cuthbert Avenue and Douglas Avenue on the south, and Denton Street and Godfrey Street on the east. The community’s western boundary includes the homes on the west side of McDonald Street, but falls short of Delmar Street.

The Superior neighborhood is primarily residential, consisting of more than 100 single-family homes. The neighborhood is divided into several sections by thruways and courts that create quiet cul-de-sacs. The far northern portion of the neighborhood is devoted to a large town home community, which features its own swimming pool and tennis courts. Several commercial and service options are located along the neighborhood’s northern boundary, including a child care center.

One of the most prominent attractions near Superior is the Midland Memorial Hospital West, situated just outside of neighborhood borders to the north, in Andrews Park. This medical facility not only constitutes a convenient health care option for residents of this community, but it makes this neighborhood potentially ideal for hospital staff.

For outdoor recreation, Doug Russell Park, Alamo Park, and Lancaster Park are situated just outside of community boundaries to the south. Combined, these community parks offer a variety of playing fields, tennis courts, trails, and playground equipment.

Adjacent to the parks are two schools within easy walking distance of the Superior neighborhood. These include Bonham Elementary School on Bonham Street and Alamo Junior High School on Storey Avenue.
