The community of Lost Mountain is nestled between the Green Tree North and Saddle Club Lakes neighborhoods in Midland, Texas. It sits northwest of downtown Midland and enjoys little impact from the city traffic. Texas 250 Loop Frontage Road to the south of the community offers access to the many city attractions, as well as to Interstate 20, which leads to Midland International Airport and nearby Odessa.
Children living in the community attend Santa Rita Elementary, Goddard Junior High, or Lee High School. Parents can take preschool children to the Heritage Preschool, located a 10 minute drive south of Lost Mountain.
For residents who like to golf, the Midland Country Club is to the east of the community. Lovers of the outdoors can visit one of the numerous parks in and around Midland, including Windlands and Sage Parks. Audrey Gill Sports Complex is a short drive to the southeast of Lost Mountain. This complex features a weight room, cardio classes, and a swimming pool, for residents with athletic aspirations.
The Midland Park Mall, south of the State Highway 250 Loop Frontage Road, provides Lost Mountain residents with the latest fashions and accessories. For a more cerebral experience, residents can visit the Marian Blakemore Planetarium, featuring astronomical learning experiences and hands-on activities for all. The sister city of Odessa is a 25 mile drive away and offers astronomy enthusiasts the opportunity to see a huge meteor impact site, museums, and a fair in September.
Other more remote attractions include Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Big Bend National Park, and other Hill Country Parks. These activities are a day-trip or weekend drive away. Living space in Lost Mountain is in high demand due to its proximity to nearby activities and secluded location.
