The Glen Arden neighborhood is located to the north and slightly to the west of downtown Midland, Texas. Glen Arden consists of fairly modern medium to large ranch homes, many of which have beautifully landscaped lots. Some of the streets end in cul-de-sacs, and it is in these areas where many of the larger homes are located.
Glen Arden is in a location where there are several popular Midland area attractions. One of them is the Racquet Club of Midland which borders Glen Arbor to the northwest. It offers tennis and swim camps for kids aged 3 to 12. This is also the place where a tournament is held every year for NCAA collegiate national tennis rankings. In addition, every year the “Racquet Club Invitational” is held here, where up and coming players from all over the world compete to break into the top 50 in world rankings. World-class tennis is within walking distance from Glen Arden.
On the eastern border of Glen Arden is Tumbleweed Park. Here, there are meandering hike/bike trails through semi-desert terrain. In the northeast Corner of this park is Windlands Park, which consists of four baseball/softball diamonds.
Not far away to the northeast is the Hogan Park Golf Course. Here, players can attend golf workshops, clinics, schools, or individual instruction. Hogan Park is one of the most popular public courses in all of West Texas.
Public schools serving this area are part of the Midland Independent School District. There are also Christian schools nearby.
Some of the restaurants nearby include Garlic Press, Vanezia Restaurant, and Cattle Baron Steak and Seafood Restaurant.
