The Elm Grove neighborhood is located to the northwest of downtown Midland, Texas. Elm Grove is made up of fairly modern, medium- to large-sized ranch-style homes on primarily south to north running streets. State Route 250 is conveniently located to the north. There are also apartment complexes in the area.
Public Schools serving this area belong to the Midland Independent School District, and there are also some Christian schools nearby.
The family-owned Vanezia Restaurant has a “Red” dining room, a “Green” dining room, and two newly refurbished outdoor patios. The lush, tree-shaded patios have umbrella tables, a fountain, statues, and permanent palapas (a type of thatched umbrella covering). Their wine list includes selections from Napa Valley, Italy, and Argentina.
Near home, there’s also Jake’s Clays, with its four 10-station fields for clay shooting arranged over a 1.2-mile course. There’s also a five-stand covered deck with an attached heated and air-conditioned classroom. Carts and guns are available for rent, as well as event facilities.
The Midland Center for the Arts has two live-performance venues, two museums, art studios, and lecture halls. It’s the place to go for theater, comedy, dance, and the Missouri Symphony.
Golf courses nearby include Ranchland Hills Country Club, Hogan Park Golf Course, and Midland Country Club.
The American Airpower Heritage Museum includes the American Combat Airman Hall of Fame, which honors American aviators who have served their country in war. The museum also has a Nose Art (nose of a plane) gallery, a USO exhibit, a conservation lab, and some artwork by artist Peter Hurd.
