Lubbock Apartments for Rent
As the hub of the South Plains, Lubbock is a busy city with a lot to offer. It is the county seat of Lubbock County, an agricultural powerhouse, and is home to a great school system with its star, Lubbock High School, being one of the top-rated schools in the US.
Students are drawn to Lubbock because of the city’s three universities: Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and Lubbock Christian University. The Museum of Texas Tech University contains a planetarium, a natural science research laboratory, and the main museum building. The Lubbock Lake Landmark, also part of the museum complex, is a US National Historic Landmark and an important archeological site. It contains evidence of ancient cultures and extinct animal fossils, and visitors can tour the area and watch digs, and volunteers can participate in excavations.
The Buddy Holly Center contains exhibits galleries, and artifacts relevant to musician Buddy Holly, a native of Lubbock. The unique American Wind Power Center and Museum consists of 28 acres dotted with windmills, including more than 90 rare windmills. The Depot District is a nightlife hotspot with its pubs and nightclubs, as well as its theaters, restaurants, and museums.
Lubbock features several beautiful parks, including Mackenzie Park, which contains the popular Joyland Amusement Park, an equestrian trail, a disc golf course, ball fields, an amphitheatre, Prairie Dog Town, and a seasonal snack concession area.
