Located about 35 minutes north of Houston is the quiet, family-centered suburb of Spring. The Town Center neighborhood is nestled into this Houston community, a part of the 77380 zip code area of Montgomery County.
Town Center residents looking to step back in time can head to Old Town Spring on 315 Gentry Street. Old Town offers plenty of craft shops and antique stores. Specialty shops include a wine shop, a store for bird enthusiasts, and a bridal store. Here you’ll enjoy parking your car and spending a warm Texas afternoon wandering from shop to shop, eating some fresh kettle corn or fair food from one of the many vendors in the area.
If an old town feel isn’t quite your style, you can hop on nearby I-45 and head south to the hustle and bustle of Houston. You’ll find plenty to eat and do along the way, including tons of retailers, salons, spas, and restaurants. You could also head north to the Woodlands, which offers a mid-sized shopping mall, complete with Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, P.F. Chang’s, and the Cheesecake Factory.
Nature lovers in Town Center have several nearby parks to choose from, including Goodyear Blimp Park (near Holzwarth Road and I-45) and Bayer Park (near Cypresswood Drive). WG Jones State Forest is roughly a 30-minute drive away, and Lake Houston State Park is within an hour’s drive from Town Center. On hot days, Splashtown is a popular destination for Town Center families. Located off of I-45, this water park features a wave pool, a lazy river, and plenty of waterslides.
If your family includes some four-legged members, the Spring area is a dog-owner’s delight. Several dog boutiques, groomers, and kennels are all located in the area.
Avid travelers are also just a short jaunt from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston’s largest airport, located at 16930 JFK Boulevard.
