Minnetex Apartments for Rent

Down in the southern section of the city of Houston is the Minnetex Neighborhood. Minnetex is a community of mostly single-family homes with a few condominiums dotting the landscape. It borders Greater Hobby Area to the east, Sam Houston Tollway to the south, South Park to its north, and South Acres/Crestmont Park to the west.

Minnetex is surrounded by shopping. The Almeda Mall is to the east, along with nice Almeda Antiques Mall. Belfort East and Edgewood Shopping Centers are to the north, while to the south are the Pearland Town Center and the Circle K Shopping Center.

For travelers, Minnetex features four airports that are located within ten miles of the neighborhood. William P. Hobby Airport is the closest, but others near Minnetex include Flyin B Airport, Skyway Manor Airport, and the Ellington Airport.

Lots of options exist for public schooling. Elementary schools in the area include Frost, John C. Codwell, and E.A. Lawhon. Middle schools are Thomas Middle, Woodson K-8 school, and Kipp Spirit College Preparatory. Sterling High and Empowerment College Preparatory High school mark the possible destinations for senior high students. Three colleges are located near Minnetex. The University of Houston, along with Alvin Community College and Houston Community College, are options for post-secondary learning.

For outdoor fun, Cleveland Swimming Pool is available during the summer time. Green spaces are also prevalent with parks like Crestmont, Cloverland, and Sims-Bayou around the Minnetex area. Plenty of quality golf courses are also around the Minnetex neighborhood. Less than four miles away is the Clear Creek Golf Course with Southwyck Golf Course and Golfcrest Country Club nearby.

In less than eight miles, Minnetex has four hospitals ready to serve residents. Texas Specialty Hospital, Harris County Hospital District, Woman’s Hospital of Texas, and Texas Children’s Hospital are all ready to help.
