League City is a Houston suburb, located to the south along Galveston Bay. Within this coastal city is the neighborhood of Cedar Landing. The zip code for this Galveston County community is 77573.
The Cedar Landing neighborhood is situated south of West Main Street/FM 518 and west of Landing Boulevard. Streets that make up this community are aptly named, including Cedar Branch Drive, Cedar Prairie Drive, Cedar Lake Drive, and Green Cedar Drive. Interstate 45 runs roughly north/south within a mile of Cedar Landing; from here, Houston is basically a straight shot, within 40 minutes to the northwest.
Cedar Landing residents enjoy close proximity to a variety of area attractions. Water sports enthusiasts will be excited to be within 10 miles of the Galveston Bay. Closer to home, just to the north of FM 518, is Challenger Seven Memorial Park. A memorial to the astronauts who died in the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion, this park offers many amenities for League City residents, including pedestrian boardwalks (sorry, no cycling allowed) and fishing docks. Pets are allowed, but they must be leashed.
Also within a few minutes of Cedar Landing, on the other side of I-45, is League City Plaza. This popular area retail center offers a Kroger grocery and a Spec’s Liquor store, among other specialty shops. Residents of Cedar Landing certainly enjoy having a market this close to home; a CVS Pharmacy is also nearby, just outside of the neighborhood bounds on Main Street. Of course, along with close proximity to the interstate comes the convenience of plenty of commercial offerings. You’ll find a variety of shopping, lodging, entertainment, and dining options situated along I-45, just to the east of Cedar Landing. Main Street, which runs past Cedar Landing, also features its share of commercial options.
Schools in the area include Ross Elementary School and Creekside Intermediate School, both situated along West Main Street.
