Development of this Texas community began in the 1970s, with most homes built before 1995. The area offers a combination of single-family homes and high- and low-rise apartments and duplexes, all on streets that are connected to the main entry to the neighborhood, West Green Avenue. The area is known for its tree-lined streets and abundance of swimming pools.
El Paso Academy West on West Redd Road is a private school on the southern end of West Green. Other nearby schools include William C. Herrera Elementary on Coates Drive, just east of Route 20; Lincoln Middle School to the south on Mulberry Avenue; and Mitzi Bond Elementary on Lindbergh Avenue, also to the south.
