Vista Hills, like its neighbor to the north is built around the Vista Hills Golf Course. Also like Vista Del Sol East, streets are named after sports figures. Some like Dale Douglas Drive and Robert Wynn Street traverse both neighborhoods. Homes in Vista Hills are a mix of single family homes and apartment buildings. Properties along the links, such as those on Leo Collins Drive or Enid Wilson Lane offer views of the players as they make their way around the greens.
George Dieter Drive to the east, North Lee Trevino Drive in the west and Vista Del Sol Drive are part commercial, part residential. The middle of Vista Hills is upscale suburban, and because of the golf course on the western end acting as a sound barrier, nice and quiet. Yet shops, services and restaurants are nearby.
Vista Del Sol Drive leads west to North Lee Trevino Drive. Head north and the road leads to the main entrance of the Vista Hills Golf Course and busy Montwood Drive. JM Hanks High School and two corner malls offering an Albertson’s supermarket, a movie theater, Kmart, Target, Dollar Tree, and Blockbuster are along Montwood Drive. An assortment of Mexican food eateries as well as Starbucks, Arby’s, and McDonald’s are along this corridor. To the south, at Vista Del Sol Drive and North Lee Trevino Drive is another mini-mall mostly devoted to restaurants. In one short block are Chili’s, Taco Bell, the Border City Ale House, and the Golden Corral Buffet and Grill.
Desert View Middle School is on Robert Wynn Street on the southeast corner of Vista Hills. Tierra Del Sol Elementary School is on Tommy Aaron Drive two blocks north of the neighborhood. St Stephens Catholic Church, Del Sol Church, and Faith Bible Fellowship are all on George Dieter Drive to the east.
